Summer on the Cuyahoga | Cleveland, Ohio

From concept to completion – a modern, responsive affordable web design with sophisticated .NET/Microsoft SQL Server web portal applications.

Summer on the Cuyahoga (www.summeronthecuyahoga.com) (SOTC) of Cleveland, Ohio is all about exposing the best young talent to the abundance of professional opportunities in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio. It’s a unique summer internship program open to students who are rising juniors, rising seniors, and recent graduates and attend one of eight SOTC partner schools. SOTC then brings together the students with some of the best companies in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio through a feature-rich, affordable web design provided by WebRiver.

The project began with an extensive 6-week planning engagement and collaboration between WebRiver and the SOTC staff in which the functional web design architecture was meticulously prepared. The result was a professional website schematic detailing all of the features and functionality required for the custom web application. After the planning engagement, our web and user interface design team created the design layouts providing a user-friendly, smooth and functional web application.

SOTC features a modern and responsive frontend customized WordPress web design which is utilized as the overall marketing information and news hub. Cleveland and Northeast Ohio employers can then sign-up through the custom Employer Portal, a .NET web application where they can post internships, review candidates, and make offers to students. Students can sign-up through the Student Portal where they can view all of the existing internships, submit their resumes, portfolios and overall applications, and monitor all of the jobs to which they have submitted. WebRiver also provided an Administrative Portal for the SOTC staff to monitor and manage the entire process, as well as provide information on events and other news.

WebRiver provided all web design and programming for every facet of the project, as well as providing on-going web hosting for both the WordPress frontend, and the .NET Employer, Student, and Admin portals. Our collaboration with SOTC provided an effective and affordable web design solution.
